Susanne Ding heads the digital infrastructure department in the Federal Ministry for Digital Transformation and Government Modernisation. She is primarily responsible for the principles of telecommunications policy and the federal government’s gigabit strategy. This includes the further development of the federal gigabit funding programmes and the legal framework for telecommunication, as well as the promotion of new network technologies and spectrum policy.
Previously, she was responsible for European and international digital infrastructure issues within the Ministry. She worked for several years at the European Commission in the fields of European media, culture, and digital policy, as well as at the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
