Since June 2025, Raimonds Čudars has been serving as Latvia’s Minister of Smart Administration and Regional Development, where he is responsible for driving digital transformation, advancing e-governance, coordinating regional development, and overseeing environmental protection. His mandate includes introducing a one-stop approach for the delivery of state and municipal services, as well as ensuring the adoption of modern, efficient information and communication technologies across the public sector.
His key priorities are to expand secure, user-friendly, and globally competitive digital solutions nationwide, while strengthening Latvia’s artificial intelligence ecosystem to support business, education, and public administration. He also places particular emphasis on promoting digital literacy, so that all citizens can fully benefit from technological progress.
Raimonds Čudars was elected to the 14th Saeima, where he chaired the Parliamentary Inquiry Commission. As a lawyer and politician, he has built a broad career in both national and municipal administration. Previously, he held the position of Minister of Climate and Energy (2022–2023) and was Chairman of the Salaspils District Council from 2009 to 2022.
