Christian Lüthje

Academic Director / Professor of Marketing and Innovation Impossible Founders Hamburg / Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH)

Christian Lüthje is Professor of Innovation and Marketing at Hamburg University of Technology and Academic Director of Impossible Founders, Hamburg’s new deep-tech startup factory. In this role, he focuses on building awareness and incubation programs that aim to turn cutting-edge research into viable ventures. By connecting universities, research institutions, accelerators, and investors, he seeks to strengthen the regional startup ecosystem and foster international linkages with other innovation hubs through academic and entrepreneurial cooperation.

At Hamburg University of Technology, Christian has developed and established support programs for science-based entrepreneurship. He is a member of investor committees and public seed and growth funds in Hamburg, where he assesses early-stage ventures and supports their financing opportunities. Beyond these structural contributions, he also coaches startup teams in their formative phases, with a particular focus on deep-tech ventures.

With his dual background in research and hands-on startup support, Christian is dedicated to fostering research-based entrepreneurship and to linking universities, investors, and startup ecosystems so that Europe’s excellent research more often translates into successful startups.
