5G Techritory to go ahead in 2020 – answering questions plaguing the 5G industry
August 12, 2020
Press releases
This year, 5G Techritory’s focus is retrospective, as encapsulated in the event name – “A year of 5G: Learning from experience, adjusting for the future”. After 12 months of tentative rollouts, 5G is struggling to deliver on the massive, industry-shifting expectations it produced. Why is the shift so slow? What are the common post-rollout challenges? And how can they be overcome? Bringing together the industry’s leading minds, 5G Techritory will seek and share answers on these and other pressing issues.
The 2-day event will be held virtually on a custom-built platform with key presentations live-streamed from the main stage in Riga. The platform is set to provide the most advanced digital conferencing experience to date, featuring multiple stages, networking opportunities, side event “rooms”, sponsor scavenger hunts, audience interaction, and more. Only registered and confirmed attendees will be granted access to the platform. The event itself is free of charge.
Pre-registration is now open for interested participants. Prime Minister of Latvia Krišjānis Kariņš emphasize Europe and the Baltic Sea Region as leading forces in 5G:
One year ago with the active support from the government, Latvia became one of the first countries in the world to launch the 5th generation communication network, thereby providing Latvian entrepreneurs and researchers with unprecedented opportunities. We’ve jumped into the fast-moving 5G bandwagon, and seeing as the global reality requires digital solutions in practically every industry, haven’t since looked back.
Europe is in a position to establish itself as a spearheading participant in the 5G industry, using the latest technologies for the development of new and innovative products and services. This forum is a demonstration of the Baltic Sea Region’s resolution to continue to move ahead and be among the world’s leaders in 5G.
– Krišjānis Kariņš, Prime Minister of Latvia
5G Techitory will feature speakers from such industry-leading corporations as Nokia, Qualcomm, DOCOMO, AT&T, among others, and confirmed participants include the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA), the 5G Infrastructure Association (5G-IA), and other influential organizations. The political industry will be represented by policy-driving entities including the Nordic Council of Ministers, the European Commission, as well as various leaders from the Baltic Sea Region.
