Nordic-Baltic Knowledge Lab: How to turn digital infrastructure into local value
NB-Connect Workshop and 5G Expert Group Meeting
International Research Centre Nordregio and the Nordic Council of Ministers invites policymakers, regulators and technology providers to a working session for cross-country exchange, asking: Which connectivity models will help boost innovation, development, and resilience in rural and remote places?
Digital connectivity can enable development, innovation, and resilience in rural and remote places—but similar levels of connectivity often produce very different outcomes. Through cases from the Faroe Islands, Lithuania, and Sweden, this workshop asks what turns connectivity into locally meaningful change, and what policymakers, communities, and infrastructure actors can learn from those differences.
Guiding question: How do rural and remote places turn digital infrastructure into local value?
Participants: NB-Connect 5G Expert Group members, Nordregio researchers, local representatives, and interested Techritory attendees
