Private 5G & dual-use technologies for strategic sovereignty
Following last year’s collaborative deep dive into Open RAN, this year’s “5G Made Together” side event at Techritory 2025 spotlights a timely and critical shift: the convergence of private 5G networks and dual-use innovation. In a region where geopolitical dynamics demand strategic resilience, we explore why every 5G and later 6G deployment must be designed with both civilian and defense applications in mind.
Private 5G is no longer just an option—it’s a necessity for sectors like manufacturing, logistics, energy, and public safety. This session will unpack real-world use cases where localized, high-performance 5G networks deliver secure, reliable, and tailored connectivity.
Simultaneously, we’ll delve into the dual-use imperative, highlighting the growing overlap between commercial and defense technology. Drawing insights from IS-Wireless’s selection for the DIANA 2025 cohort, we’ll examine how 5G infrastructure is being reimagined to support operational readiness, national security, and alliance interoperability. Key topics will include spectrum sharing, secure architecture, and mobilizing private networks for emergency or defense scenarios.
