Gudrun Masloch

German Ambassador to Latvia German Embassy in Riga

Since August 13, 2024, Gudrun Masloch has been the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Republic of Latvia. Before that, from 2020 to 2024, she was head of Division for West Africa and Central Africa at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin.

During her diplomatic career, Gudrun Masloch has worked in various German missions abroad, including the Permanent Mission to the Office of the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, the Embassy in Riga, Latvia, the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, USA, and the Embassy in Skopje, North Macedonia.

At the Foreign Ministry in Berlin, she has also served as Deputy Head of Division, African Union, Southern Africa, Great Lakes Region, general issues Sub-Saharan Africa, and as a rapporteur for relations with the Middle East and the Arabian Peninsula, in the Federal Foreign Office Special Task Force Afghanistan, and in the EU Coordination Group.

She completed her academic education with a Master of Business Administration degree from Fordham University, New York, and also holds a professional bachelor’s degree in Public Administration.
