The National Communications Authority (NKOM) is an executive supervisory and administrative authority for services within post and electronic communications in Norway. NKOM is subject to the Ministry of Digitalization and Administration (DFD). The Ministry of Transport and Communications (SD) has professional responsibility for matters in the postal area. The Frequency and Equipment Control Section is NKOM’s nationally distributed operational technical group. The section is measuring, analyzing, and following up on the physical ekom infrastructure across Norway.
The spectrum department manages the frequency resources in Norway. This involves planning, allocation, and follow-up of the use of the state’s frequencies. The department is also responsible for following up on international obligations in the radio frequency area, primarily in CEPT, ITU, and the EU.
The Frequency and Equipment Control Section is NKOM’s distributed operational technical group. The Section is present with resources in Lillesand, Oslo/Ski, Bergen, Trondheim, and Tromsø, and is measuring, analyzing, and following up the physical ekom infrastructure all over Norway.
