Most recently, he served for ten years as the head of the EU agency to support the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC).
He enabled BEREC to accomplish its duties in strengthening the EU digital single market, and to shift its focus towards emerging challenges in the data economy and in AI. He also assisted candidate countries’ authorities and those of Eastern Partnership countries in approximation to the EU.
Before that, for nearly another decade, he worked at the national administration of his country of origin, following its accession to the European Union. He spent almost six years at the Permanent Representation to the EU, focusing on the successful first Hungarian Presidency of the EU Council in 2011. There he gained extensive experience in stakeholders contacts, in interinstitutional affairs and in EU legislative and non-legislative activities in digital matters.
During the first decade of his career, he worked in the private sector, mainly for telecommunications operators, in middle and senior management posts. He played roles in mergers, acquisitions, and organizational developments, as well as in business planning and reporting, during the era of market liberalization and digital transition in the telecommunications sector.
