Maarit has extensive expertise in telecoms, digital, and internet matters gained through different professional roles in government relations, business development, and consultancy over nearly 20 years.
In her current job, Maarit leads ETNO’s work on telecommunications regulation, spectrum, competition policy, and international affairs. She works closely with the operator community and governmental and business stakeholders on topical digital issues to advance the availability of digital services to citizens and other users.
Before ETNO, Maarit worked with the Internet Society acquiring extensive links with the global internet and technical community. Previously, Maarit held various public sector business development roles at Cisco Systems, focusing on smart cities. She has also developed a solid service-oriented, hands-on profile while working on technology policy issues in leading Brussels-based consultancies Interel and Schuman Associates.
