Director Peteris Ustubs joined the Latvian diplomatic service in 1993. He continued his career in the European institutions, including as Deputy Head of Cabinet, Ambassador of the EU to Canada and Diplomatic Advisor to President von der Leyen.
He has been Director for Asia and the Pacific at the
Directorate General for International Partnerships since 2022 (covering also the Middle East from 2022-2025).
